The following is an overview by Vake Parsram of the book, ‘Guyanese Finding Roots in India’, authored by Dr Parsram S. Thakur, a Psychology Emeritus Professor from the United States, and more recently Director of the University of Guyana’s Berbice Campus.

WATER can be considered one of the most valuable resource on earth. Every living thing requires an adequate supply of water, and it has been proven that the provision of clean water contributes significantly to a high quality of life.

SMARTPHONES have shown a significant growth worldwide over the past few years. Estimates show   there are now more than 1 billion Smartphones in the world, and that Smartphone shipments had topped the 420 million mark at the end of 2011. In any case, Smartphones are slowly inching towards complete worldwide penetration, so this is obviously a market to be closely watched.

THE more I learn about the amazing medicinal and therapeutic properties of the celery, the more justification I find for the old adage: “In the midst of hunger, there is plenty.”
