RICARDO Rodrigues alias ‘Fat man’, who was wanted, by the Police, for questioning in relation to the unlawful possession of arms and ammunition, turned himself in at the ‘E&F’ Division Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown, yesterday,
Deputy Commissioner ‘Law Enforcement’, Mr. Seelall Persaud, who made the disclosure about the surrender said, however, that another fugitive, Clive Lloyd King called ‘Bora’ remains at large. The latter has since been identified as Benedict Thompson, 19, who appeared in Court on charges of illegal possession of arms, ammunition and explosives and was remanded to prison until December 4. He has also been charged with having two anti-riot grenades without lawful authority. Police had reported that about 15:00 hrs on October 1, ranks conducted a search on a residence at Tabatinga, Lethem, where the following arms, ammunition and other articles were found - four automatic AK-47 rifles along with four magazines and 389 rounds 7.62x39 calibre ammunition, six M16 rifles together with two magazines and 74 matching rounds, two shrapnel hand grenades, one Icon VHF radio set, one Icon hand-held radio set and one roll of camouflage material. |
