BRAZILIAN national Raimundo Naceimento appeared Monday before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry charged with maliciously and unlawfully wounding police officer Kurt Crawford by chopping him twice at the back of his neck, because Naceimento saw his reputed wife speaking to the officer.
The offence is alleged to have been committed on July 28 at Five Miles, Arakaka, North West District. Represented by Counsel Marcel Bobb, Naceimento pleaded not guilty to the charges by means of an interpreter; and his attorney made a successful bail application for him at a sum of $500,000. He will be making another court appearance on August 7 at the Matthews Ridge Magistrate’s Court. |
