REALTOR Steven King, 27, of Lot 64 Premniranjan Place, Prashad Nagar, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and using threatening language.
It was alleged that, on July 29, in Prashad Nagar, he threatened and assaulted Sasha Sandy. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered to post $75,000 bail until September 28. Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, said King and the virtual complainant share a relationship and, on the night of the incident, they had a misunderstanding, during which he dealt the woman several slaps and gun-butted her. After the defendant denied the allegations, the prosecutor disclosed that, the same night he was arrested, a search was carried out but no gun was found. |
