The Dramatic Arts Academy will celebrate its third play, ‘GANA BHAJANA 3’, tomorrow at the National Cultural Centre, starting at 19:00hrs. This new play follows closely on the heels of the first two, highly successful, ’GANA BHAJANA’, 1 and 2, Produced by the DAA.
The first play was staged in 2010.
The producer is certain that though the play will be staged in Bollywood style, it is satirical, but seriously touches on some of society’s scourges, such as domestic violence, which is perhaps the worst of the many ills.
The director went to extreme lengths in getting these messages out, with a brand new short play, written in simple layman’s language, for all Guyanese to understand how brutal domestic and other forms of abuse can hurt and destroy a society and its people.
The play , ’GANA  BHAJANA 3’, is Directed by Neaz Subhan,and stars some of the cream of Guyana’s crop - Sonia Yarde,Keri Phang,Chris Gopaul, Neaz Subhan, Derek Gomes Aditya Persaud,naming a few, and  will be staged for one night only.
