RECENTLY crowned national featherweight champion Clive ‘Wonder Kid’ Atwell’s clash with national lightweight champion Revlon Lake will highlight the 25th edition of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control, in collaboration with the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association’s ProAm Friday Night Fights.
The two principals will go head-to-head in a six-round encounter in the main bout of the card on Friday, July 27, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Berbice’s Richard Williamson and Dillon Allicock will also make their debut on the professional scene, when they face each other in a four-round bantamweight encounter. Both Gladwin Dorway and Anson Greene recorded victories over David Thomas, with Dorway’s victory coming via a second-round knockout in his first professional bout and certainly this bout can set up who is the better boxer. The veteran Errol Trotman will be looking to make sure Kishan Simon does not start his professional career on a successful note, when they go head-to-head in a lightweight matchup, which is sure to create much excitement for the hundreds who are expected at the venue to witness the night’s action. The fighters will affix their signatures to their respective contract this afternoon, and will return to their gyms to commence preparation for the bouts. |
