I WOULD like to alert the people of LBI about a certain individual from a neighbouring village, who is subtly bringing his friends to destroy LBI with drugs, and most likely to spy. The people of this group are often seen at a particular shop, and are now making a bid for the community centre, possibly to target the youths of LBI. It would be wise of youths to avoid these two mentioned places. Children from Triumph and Mon Repos need to take extra care when using the alleyway linking LBI Housing Scheme and LBI railway line, and also LBI estate road. Phone, chain and other snatchers are busy. Even the workers from the sugar estate are robbed in broad daylight. This is not a matter of lack of employment. This is plain greed, covetousness, laziness etc of these youth criminals. The bicycles they use are also stolen property. There is another set of conmen and conwomen who claim to be soliciting donations for feeding programmes, churches, and all manner of organisations. Could the relevant authorities put measures in place to prevent people from being fleeced? |
