NEWSPAPER vendor Carl Wright, 38, of Goedverwagting, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at Sparendaam Court, yesterday, charged with unlawful wounding and assault.
It was alleged that, on March 6, at Plaisance, also on East Coast Demerara, the defendant unlawfully and maliciously wounded and assaulted Mahadeo Gopaul. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and Gopaul also denied a charge of assaulting Wright to cause him actual bodily harm. Wright was ordered to post $45,000 bail on his two charges and Gopaul must lodge $20,000 surety, until March 30. |
