Fine, community service ordered for malicious damage, wounding SIMON Rodriguez (no address given) appeared at Sparendaam Court, East Coast Demerara, on Tuesday, charged with malicious damage to property and unlawful wounding. He pleaded guilty to both charges before Magistrate Alex Moore, admitting that, on February 16, he damaged a movable shed and step that cost $20,000, property of Desmond Rodriguez, whom he also unlawfully and maliciously wounded. The defendant was given until March 13 to compensate the virtual complainant or spend one month in prison for damaging the property and do 20 hours community service for the wounding, with the alternative of two weeks imprisonment. |
