CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh (CMC) – Veteran West Indies left-hander Shiv Chanderpaul stroked a breezy 33 but Dwayne Smith failed to score as Khulna Royal Bengals went down to Barisal Burners by four wickets in the Bangladesh Premier League here yesterday.
Chanderpaul stroked three fours off 28 balls as the Bengals, sent in at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, racked up 161 for seven off their 20 overs. West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell could only manage five as Nazmul Hossain Milon top-scored with an unbeaten 42. The Burners then got home with three balls to spare with Mominul Haque finishing with an unbeaten 53. Russell claimed one for 24 from three overs while Smith went wicket-less as Abdur Razzaq (2-22) and Shakib al Hasan (2-34) claimed two wickets apiece. In the preceding match, West Indies one-day and Twenty20 specialist Kieron Pollard belted three sixes in a cameo unbeaten 22 off six balls to fire Dhaka Gladiators to an eight-wicket win over Sylhet Royals. |
